Dr. Byers may utilize dental implants to restore smiles that are affected by missing teeth.
Missing teeth can affect the health of a patient in several ways. A patient may experience sagging of their face and cheekbones, or severe shifting of their teeth when a tooth is missing. Missing teeth can also provide an open door for gum diseases and other potential risk factors. Dental implants provide a durable and sturdy foundation for tooth replacements.
Dental implants are made of titanium, and act as a root or anchor for a restorative device. Dr. Byers restores dental implants, and will refer patients who require implant placement.
A typical implant procedure consists of:
A consultation appointment with Dr. Byers to determine the plan of treatment
A surgical procedure where the implant is placed into the supporting jaw bone
A healing period which allows the implant to properly take root in the tissues below the gum-line
Placement of a temporary crown or crowns to cover the implant during the healing period
Once healed, placement of appropriate restorative device, such as porcelain crown or fixed bridge
If your smile is affected by a missing tooth, or several missing teeth, dental implants may be recommended to restore your beautiful and natural smile.
